Nippon Domannaka Festival

Yep, one year has past and the Domannaka festival is here again. From Friday, August 26th until to Sunday the 28th over 210 teams & around 23,000 performers from both inside and outside Japan will take to the streets of Nagoya for Japan’s largest dance festival.  Parades & performances will be held at 20 locations in and around the city, with the main stage located in Hisaya Odori Park久屋大通公園会場in Yabacho. Admission is free, but there is a charge to sit in the grand stage spectator seating area (between 500 – 3500Yen depending on date and time.

Parade & Performance Schedule

Main Stage

Hisaya Odori Koen (Yaba-cho Subway Station, exit 6) – Fri (15:00 – 21:00), Sat (09:00 – 21:00), Sun (09:00 – 21:00)

Saturday & Sunday

  • Endoji Parade (Kokusai Center Subway Station, exit 2) – Sat (12:30 – 16:30) and Sun (10:30 – 16:30)
  • JR Towers Garden (Nagoya Station) – Sat & Sun (10:00 – 11:15, 11:30 – 12:30, 13:15 – 14:45, 15:30 – 17:00)

Saturday Only

  • Hirabari Street Parade (Hirabari Subway Station, exit 2) – Sat (13:30 – 16:30)
  • Kachigawa Street Parade (JR Kachigawa Station) – Sat (10:30 – 14:00)
  • Mikawa Anjo (JR Mikawa Anjo Station) – Sat (10:00 – 12:30)
  • Narumi Street Parade (near Meitetsu Narumi Station) – Sat (10:00 – 12:00, 13:00 – 15:00)
  • Osu Kannon (Osu Kannon Subway Station, exit 2) – Sat (10:00 – 14:00)

Sunday Only

  • Arako Koen Ground (near Takabata Subway Station, exit 4) – Sun (10:00 – 11:30, 11:30 – 12:00, 13:00 – 15:00)
  • Dotoku Street Parade (Meitetsu Dōtoku Station) – Sun (10:30 – 17:00)
  • Eki-nishi Ginza Street Parade (near Nakamura Kuyakusho Subway Sta. exit 2) – Sun (13:00 – 15:00)
  • Nadya Park Yaba Koen (near Yaba-cho Subway Station, exit 5) – Sat (10:00 – 17:30), Sun (10:00 – 18:00)
  • Nagoya Station – Sat (13:15 – 14:45) & Sun (13:15 – 14:45)
  • Otsu Dori Parade (near Yaba-cho Subway Station) – Sat (11:30 – 17:45) & Sun (11:30 – 17:30)

      where is the JR towers Garden? I live 5 min walk from the towers.

        Hi Alan,
        The JR tower gardens are just next to the station. If you leave by the main Not exit (by the escalator), walk right and then past the stairs going down to the subway, it’s up on your immediate right hand side.
