Every 18th and 28th of the month enjoy the Osu Kannon Temple flea market with over 60 stalls. Its fun to stop by if you’re around the area. While in Osu why not try some Uirou (pronounced Wee-low), a traditional Japanese sweet made from sugar and rice powder. The Osu Uirou main shop can be found just a few meters down the undercover shopping area if you enter from the Temple / market side. Or how about some fantastic Taiwanese fried chicken from Lee’s Taiwan Kitchen. See the homepage here. There are 3 shops in Osu so you’re bound to stumble across one on your stroll around the old shopping streets. They have recently expanded to Toyama and Osaka, not bad considering their humble beginnings were from a tiny outlet here in Osu.
