Karaoke around Nagoya

Karaoke takes on a whole new meaning here in Japan, far from the image of sunday night at the "pub" being heckled by the locals as you sweal way through a queen a classic.  Karaoke is fun here, groups can enjoy singing and drinking to their hearts content in private rooms where nobody else can see or hear you thus avioding an unneccessary arrest.  A classic night out involves a nice meal, cheap and cheerful izakaya, followed by 2-3 hours in a karaoke box taking fully advantage of the all you can drink option.  Nagoya, like all good Japanese cities is blessed with a fairly good selection of Karaoke shops list below.

Shidax Karaoke

Shidax is possibly the largest chain Karaoke shop in Japan and serving the large citis and small towns across the country.  This means an excellent selection of songs, probably the best selection in the business, especailly for foreign listings.  The prices can be a little steeper but stay for the whole night, add an all you drink option, and you probably won't have to pay more than 3000 yen per person.

Karaoke Joy Joy

With shops located all over Nagoya, Joy Joy is an inexpensive Karaoke option.  Prices are especially cheap if you decide not to drink, in which case it can cost only a couple of hundred yen for an hour (off peak). To find the closest Joy Joy to you, click here
