Discover a new new way of thinking…Discover a new way of learning…We introduce a very special International School in the Nagoya suburbs.

Our Beliefs

Discovery International School provides Reggio Emilia inspired, play-oriented educational programs in English for preschoolers and afternoon elementary students of all nationalities. Our programs are guided by modern international research on childhood development and language acquisition. Our School Director is an experienced international school early childhood program leader, and holds a Master of Education with a concentration on physical and psychological learning environments and language acquisition.

Our System

Children at Discovery partner with peers and teachers to engage in deep, subject-integrated learning projects which stem from children’s play interests and questions. Literacy learning is workshop oriented and provided on a one-to-one basis according to each child’s level of development. Children’s work is documented as it progresses both on our walls and on-line. Always,

The child’s voice is the centre of our attention!

Our staff is committed to continuous professional learning in the fields of early childhood and language development. We share with children the responsibility of determining paths to new knowledge and holistic growth. We dedicate ourselves to respect for children’s rights and voices–and joy! Discovery teachers partner with parents to know and celebrate each child and to determine best choices for next steps in each child’s development.

We are located on the eastern border of Nagoya, in Nagakute Town. Parking is available. Come and Discover joyful, powerful, child-driven learning!
