Osu & Kamimaezu

Osu Shopping Street

About: Osu is an excellent place to shop especially if you’re on a budget or your fashion taste is a little more funky. Located within minutes of Sakae, both Kamimaezu and Osu Kannon have subways stops on the Meijo line (purple one). In Osu you’ll find a maze like, shop-lined, undercover shopping precinct that works it’s way around the Osu area. Second hand clothes shops are very popular in Osu and, if they’re not second hand then they are cheap. Compared with Sakae, Osu is much less a catwalk-style atmosphere, and the general feel of the area reflects how shopping used to be in Nagoya (before the huge department stores were built). There are also some excellent restaurants and cafes around for when you need break from the shops. All in all, an interesting and colorful area of Nagoya to spend a morning or afternoon.

Opening Times: Most shops open from 10am to 8pm
